This is an excellent brewpub, with a beautiful decor, tasty brews and a wonderful atmosphere. I didn't sample the food, but the Pull Chain and Louis Demise ales are outstanding. I was also impressed that while they did not offer their own bock this spring, they did have every other Milwaukee brewer's version on tap, and advertised for their competition as well. If you visit Brew City, Do Not Miss this one. (Date added: 4/28/98)

The Milwaukee Ale House was a much needed addition to the Milwaukee beer scene. So far, it is the only quality independent brewpub in town. The beer was above average within months of its opening.
They offer a nitrogen-carbonated English-style ale that was quite good. Their pale ale also showed considerable promise. The atmosphere is excellent, a beer garden off the planned riverwalk should open this summer. The only weakness was its food, which has been inconsistent. They have been experimenting with different formats and cooks. As far as beer is concerned, this is the best brewpub in the city. (Date added: 4/27/98)
