This brewery has closed. (Date added: 2/25/98) Kevin Marley now works at the Chop House in Denver. I'm not sure who the new brewer at the Houston Rock Bottom is, but it's not Kevin. (Date added: 12/25/97) - Anon. Dan Hoffman hit the nail on the head! (Date added: 10/28/97) Two visits confirm my opinion that the Rock Bottom is aimed not at beer enthusiasts but trendy types who want something better than Shiner Bock. Their beer is devoid of hops and all styles tasted (Red Ale, Wheat, and Stout) are lightweight versions. Houston Brewery (across the street) is much better. (Date added: 9/11/97) Great, fresh beer. Waitstaff goes all out to make your visit enjoyable. Lots of room to spread out and enjoy the bar, live music or pool/shuffle-board. This place has a lot to offer. My favorite is the Rocket Red Ale. Food is well prepared and presented. A good value. |
