Enjoyable place, located in an upscale shopping mall inside a restored (textile?) mill. The beers I tried were more than adequate, and the menu had a nice selection of pub-style food. The servers, mostly college students, were pleasant and helpful. Keene itself was a pleasant surprise, and ECB was a memorable stop. (Date added: 4/30/98) We were on a tour of all 18 brewpubs in the states of NH and VT and this was our last stop. We made it at five bofore nine on a Sunday and they were closing at 9!?!?! The pints we had were fine and the atmosphere, all five minutes of it, fit the "heavily varnished, real wood" feel of a good darkened pub. The three rating is perhaps on too quick a look-see, but the closing time made me wince. I guess there's more to do in Keene, NH on a Sunday night than there would appear. (Date added: 9/18/97) |
