as of 1-22-97 via article in todays hattiesburg american, state legislature is debating brewpubs in ms and looks to include casinos this time. looks to be a shoe in this time, votes are cemented and should pass, restirction is 40k gal. or 90k if casino w/1000 rooms. not sure of status of bill to increase to 5.0% from current 4.0%. this bill is repealable in 2004 if not working out.

current law 4.0% by volume legislation to go to 5.0% is pending this session 1998 current system, three tier, producer, wholesaler, retailer, none of the three can have any relation or connection legally.
in other words, brewpubs are not legal at this time but laws are being presented now 1998 to change that. expect casinos on gulf coast to open brewpubs and microbreweries very soon if this law passes, which it most likely will. There are probally plans in the works waiting on this. also expect brewpub activity in hattiesburg, vicksburg, tunica, and starkville, and oxford. probally the coast first, maybe tunica.
