Their English cask ales are acceptable. The food is ok but a bit high on the price end. Waitresses and waiters are average to a bit below average noting the several times I've stopped there they have been for the most part unfriendly. The recent introduction of a wheat beer was a nice addition to their beer line-up. (Date added: 6/3/98) These folks are trying hard to create true English Ales, and their effort shows. Their ESB was the best I've tried since drinking Fuller's as a real ale in England; it was balanced with nice Kent Goldings dry hopped character, served at propper cellar temperature. Their porter used an 1850's recipe, and the brown malt character was a pleasant surprise. The food was OK, but a bit pricey. Happy hour is not applicable in the restaurant and we were very disappointed to fine the place closed the Sunday before Labor day despite having called to verify their Sunday hours the day before.
