Available beers as of 12/23/97: 1)Oatmeal Stout - Good roasted flavor, medium body but NO head.
2) Cream Ale - Light body, clear, good malty flavor.
3) Hefeweizen - did not try 4) Nut Brown - Nice malty nose and finish. No head.
5) Java Porter - Great coffee aroma and finish. Coffee compliments the raostiness of the porter nicely.
6) Autumn Ale - Good balance between malt and hops. Lots of crystal malt characteristics.
Harper's has a good atmosphere and a limited menu at this time. They claimed that they were working on a larger menu. None of the beers we tried were served with any head, perhaps a nitrogen charger for the oatmeal stout would be a nice touch.
This place is worth checking out! (Date added: 1/1/98)
