I have only one problem with The Goose. There are too many beers to choose from. When I was there they had 12 brews on tap. They offer 40 different over the year. I can't wait to try everyone. (Date added: 1/20/98) Fantastic. As far as I'm concerned... the number one destination in the city. The atmosphere, menu, and always interesting (and tasty) beers make this the best brewpub I've ever been to. (Date added: 12/3/97) Sadly, I have only been to the Goose one time (well, two days in a row actually), but I will not soon forget it. All the beers, light to dark were excellent. I have only been to a couple of BrewPubs that were in this class. The atmosphere and food are excellent too. When I was at O'Hare airport connecting a few months ago, a snagged a few bottles of their Honker's Ales from the bar. If I could rate it a 10, I would. I have been to more brewpubs than I can remember and none even come close. My favorite brewpub. Great India Pale Ale. Burgers are super, too. (Date added: 5/29/97) If there's a better brewpub in the Midwest nobody has told me about it. Food and beer are both very good. They brew at least 30 different beers a year- and all of them are first rate. Do not miss the Goose when you visit Chicago. (Date added: 5/5/97) Goose Island served the boldest, most full-bodied beers of the three brewpubs I visited in Chicago. They're daring variety caters to the experimental beer lover. The atmosphere was inviting and the menu items designed to compliment the brews. I suggest ordering from the appetizer menu in order to save room for the beer (don't worry, the appetizer portions are ample). Goose Island is one (if not the) premier Mid-West brew pub. They consistently maintain a great selection of regular and seasonal brews of the greatest quality. They will also generally offer one or more of their beers on hand-pull. A treat not to be missed. |
