Hawaii Beer News & Rumors

Just returned from a Hawaiian vacation & visited all open brewpubs plus Kona Brewing on the Big Island. The guys there are planning a brewpub to open around April or May. They mentioned they are planning around four new beers for this venture, in addition to the three beers they currently have available. Also learned that Sharktooth Brewing in Kahului, Maui is closing at the end of February. They are hoping the new owner of the restaurant retains the services of the brewer, but it is uncertain at this time. We did not see any activity from the planned brewpub in Kapa'a in Kaua'i. An article in "Gusto" magazine says Hapa's Brew Haus in Kihei, Maui has it's brewing equipment on the auction block. Send in your Hawaii news & rumors! Add A Brewery to the Beer Expedition
